Whether or not you’re nervous about injections, The Wand enables a more predictably comfortable delivery, especially in sensitive areas like the palate or the front of your mouth. It also uses less anesthetic and, in some cases, specific techniques that help avoid collateral numbness of the face, tongue, and lips.
Contrary to popular belief, the discomfort of an injection typically doesn’t come from the needle itself—it comes from the pressure and volume of the anesthetic entering the tissue. The microprocessor in The Wand automatically adjusts for varying tissue densities, delivering the anesthetic at a constant pressure and volume—usually below the threshold of pain. It also releases a small flow of anesthetic just ahead of the needle, numbing the insertion site and creating a “pathway of anesthesia” so you barely feel the needle.
